Prayer for discipline


Patient Father

I often put tasks off for another or another time. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring or how long my life will be, but I can’t help but behave as though I have all the time in the world. Please give me the discipline to leap into action when I know what needs to be done. Prevent me from wasting my spare time and help me to make the best use of my life.

Teach me when to rest and recharge and help me find a balance in life. Help me Lord to break the habit of procrastination. Help me to persevere even when the road to success is long. Help me to wait patiently for meaningful rewards rather than throwing them away for short term satisfaction.

Lord when I experience setbacks, give the motivation to keep trying and the wisdom to know when to change my strategy. Thank for being with me as I work and for being my comfort in difficult times.

Prayer for the strength to put God first

  Heavenly Father, I trust you to be the manager of my life. I wish to be the type of person that stands firm in their faith and trust you in every situation. Give me the strength to face difficulties with you as my focus. Teach me to trust your directions. I know you want what's best for me, but I can't stop relying on my own mind and trusting only what I can see. God, help me to rely on your power. When I am afraid, I will trust you to be my courage. When I am angry, I will trust you to be my peace. When I am grieving, I will trust you to be my comfort When I am lonely, I will trust you to keep me company When I am rejected, I will remember that your approval is all that I need. Lord, you are the source of all Good things. Help me to keep my eyes focus on you and help me to develop the trust that will draw me closer to you.   Amen

July Prayer

Almighty Father,               Thank you for the wonderful blessings that you have given to me in June. As I enter this month of July, I pray for missionaries and all people who live their lives doing good for others: volunteers and paid staff of various charitable organizations, health care professionals, people who are called to religious ministry: priests, pastors, nuns, ministers, deacons, and all those who live lives of service. Be with them as they carry out the tasks you have assigned to them. Give them patience that they may graciously stand firm when it seems like their work is in vain, inspire them that they may know what to say when the time comes.   Cover them with your divine providence that their families will not want. Bless them that through their sacrifice they may find eternal peace with you Lord send your spirit Amen
