Prayer for dealing with gluttony



Eternal Father,

I know that indulgence can be a true addiction. Help me to identify the moments where I have placed my love of pleasure over my love of you. I realize that I can seriously harm the body that you have given me through overconsumption and excess and vow to excess restraint in my consumption. Whenever I indulge in food drink, social media, luxurious clothes or any other indicator of status or wealth that my actions should always be rooted in my desire to please you.

Wherever my overconsumption has damaged my relationships with others, heal those relationships. I no longer wish to have my need for pleasure overshadow the needs of those around me. Lord help me to control my appetite so that I can take command of the life you have provided for me and help me to remember that even my consumption habits should glorify you.

Amen.

Prayer for the strength to put God first

  Heavenly Father, I trust you to be the manager of my life. I wish to be the type of person that stands firm in their faith and trust you in every situation. Give me the strength to face difficulties with you as my focus. Teach me to trust your directions. I know you want what's best for me, but I can't stop relying on my own mind and trusting only what I can see. God, help me to rely on your power. When I am afraid, I will trust you to be my courage. When I am angry, I will trust you to be my peace. When I am grieving, I will trust you to be my comfort When I am lonely, I will trust you to keep me company When I am rejected, I will remember that your approval is all that I need. Lord, you are the source of all Good things. Help me to keep my eyes focus on you and help me to develop the trust that will draw me closer to you.   Amen

July Prayer

Almighty Father,               Thank you for the wonderful blessings that you have given to me in June. As I enter this month of July, I pray for missionaries and all people who live their lives doing good for others: volunteers and paid staff of various charitable organizations, health care professionals, people who are called to religious ministry: priests, pastors, nuns, ministers, deacons, and all those who live lives of service. Be with them as they carry out the tasks you have assigned to them. Give them patience that they may graciously stand firm when it seems like their work is in vain, inspire them that they may know what to say when the time comes.   Cover them with your divine providence that their families will not want. Bless them that through their sacrifice they may find eternal peace with you Lord send your spirit Amen
