Big Blog of Prayer

  Loving Father, I come to you seeking relief of the pain that is plaguing me today. I look at what others have, and I find myself wanting it or myself. I envy all manner of things, their possessions, their relationships, their joy and wonder why I always find myself lacking.   Lord, it often gets to the point where I start hating the people who seem to be thriving while I stay stuck in a pit of despair. Help me Lord to keep my eyes on my blessings and to work to improve my circumstances rather than envying others. Bless my work Lord, that I may feel truly rewarded by the Harvest I reap and give me your spirit of gratitude that I may never feel the need to compare my blessing with anyone else's. Lord crush any anger, depression, bitterness, resentment of feelings of ill-will that have festered within me because if my envy and transform them into contentment that I may walk through life wanting nothing but your approval. Lord hear my prayer Amen.

Compassionate Father, In this world where people are often fuelled by selfishness and greed, we often find ourselves filled with anger and resentment at the awful things people can do. Lord, I know that in the right moments, anger can be a tool that inspires us to transform moments of unfairness and injustice. Help us to rise to these occasions and bring about the change you want us to strive for. Lord, there are also moments when our pride consumes us, and we are angry for the sake of our ego. Help us in these moments to take a moment when anger threatens to overcome me and teach me to respond in ways that bring you glory. Amen

  Eternal Lord,   I come to you seeking forgiveness for all the times I have sought to bring glory to myself instead of to you. I repent for being proud of the gifts and talents you have given to me to serve my community. Lord you understand my weakness, help me identify the moments where I have behaved pridefully and sought to elevate myself over others. I turn these moments over to you. Help me to do better in the future. Help me to show compassion and forgiveness to others instead of looking down on them when they fail to live up to my standards. In a world that worships self-promotion. Help me to always put you first. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen

  Patient Father, I pray today for myself and for all those who feel stuck in the mires of sin. I believe that you have created each of us and care for us deeply. Lord send your healing light to each of us that it may cleanse us of the desires that plague us and stand in the way of a deeper bond with you. I repent of every sin I have committed knowingly or unknowingly, and I pray that you pass this same spirit of forgiveness upon every human being on this Earth.   I choose this day to recommit myself to yourself and resolve to do better in my words and actions that I may bring true Honour to your name. Transform my soul with your radiant presence that I may have the courage and discipline to live as one of your children. I pray Lord for those who have never had the chance to know you and for those who have lost their way in the world. May they find the peace that heals their souls and transforms their lives. Eternal Creator,   I trust in you. I know that you are good and faithful to those who serve you. I am doubtful and unsure of the decisions that I am about to make. Enter my mind and help me make decisions that are pleasing to you and serve your goals. Guide my actions that they may help bring your light to a hurting world. I believe that I am safe in you and when I operate through you grace no harm can come to me. Help me make decisions quickly and efficiently and teach me your ways Lord that I may always make you proud. Amen

  Father I come to you a poor sinner desperately seeking your forgiveness for the many times I have failed to do your will.    I am lost and seek the path to salvation. Guide me that I may understand your will and give me the grace that I may do these tasks earnestly. Lord forgive me for the times I have committed acts that bring disgrace upon myself and close me off from the destiny you have in store for me. I place myself in your hands and wish to be moulded into the person you want me to be. Lord forgive me for the times I have ignored the needs of those around me. Lord guide my actions that I may be more generous to the less fortunate and bless my contributions so that they can produce the richest fruits.   Lord In everything I submit to you. Lead me in the way you wish me to go and keep me close to your Holy Will. In Jesus' name, we pray Amen

   Lord, Many people have hurt me and others through their thoughtless actions or words. Thank you for your gift of forgiveness. Give me your mercy so that through you I can forgive them for the pains that they have caused. Help me to remember that we all one through you and help me not to see an enemy in an ignorant soul. Even when I am hurt, keep my emotions from controlling my actions that I may release the anger and direct my actions to the good of everyone. May your Holy Spirit guide my tongue that I can build a peaceful relationship with the people who seek it and I praise you that through it all you seek what is best for everyone. Amen

Loving Creator   My life is changing rapidly around me and I feel like I am losing control. Send your Spirit to soothe my mind and take away the anxious thoughts that plague me and keep me from taking actions that can improve my life and circumstances. Bring to light the root cause of my anxiety that I may work on it diligently and help me to trust that you will fill in the gaps so that I need not fear the future. Lord when I am anxious please be my peace. I know that you are always there at you know what I need and want only the best for me. Give me strength that I may earnestly place my life in your hands and trust that you will care for me no matter what. Amen

Heavenly Father, Thank you for the wonderful blessings that you have given to me in April. As I enter this month of May, I ask you to send your compassion that we may care for the poor and needy. Many people have found themselves in dire situations due to their actions and in many cases the actions of others. Free them from these systems and help us to restructure our society so these people can have their voices heard, their wishes respected, and their needs met. Teach us, Lord, to respect our differences however they may manifest and teach us to act in ways that are beneficial to all society rather than just ourselves. Lord teach us tolerance and acceptance. Amen
