Prayer for the church

Eternal Lord,

I bring before you the people who call themselves your children. In these difficult times, we are in desperate need of your power and strength. Help us to set aside our differences and work to bring about your will in a hurting world. Help us to live in love and to be an example to non-believers of the power that living in your love can bring.  Direct our lives and lead us to the choices that will bring honour and glory to you, Lord.

Fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit. We believe that you came into our lives to fill us with joy, peace, patience, love, and all manner of good things. Through your power may we receive these blessings in our lives and use them to make a true difference in our world.

We recognize you as the authority in our lives. Help us to keep our eyes on you so that we can follow your directions and respond to your call on our lives. Empower us to carry one another's burden and remind us that we are all on this journey together.

 Lord, we know that you are our provider and that you know what we need before we ask for it. May we never lack for anything. We trust in your timing and wait patiently for your response to the great longings in our lives. Forgive us, Lord, for the moments where we have fallen short and empower us to correct any mistakes that we have made.

Thank you for the gift of eternal life. Help us never to forget this gift of love on our behalf. Help us to go boldly forward and share the gift of your love and generosity with others
